Muqti'
In the Delhi sultanate, muqti' was the holder of a large ter-ritory as his iqta', from where he collected land revenue for main-taining his personal establishment as well as military contingent. The muqti' also was responsible for suppressing the local recalcitrants and rebels. Within his iqta' a muqti' could bestow grants on his re-tainers and aides.
